The Nygård district heating plant currently has two biofuel boilers that provide basic production year-round. Fuel for these boilers is made up of woodchips, bark and garden waste from the municipality.

It also has a biofuel boiler that helps when the weather turns very cold. The Ödmansvägen plant serves as a reserve facility.
